La Perle Jewellery

Cloud 9 would be a good way of describing me since Saturday!! I opened my Flickr account to find a warm and friendly (as only you American's do best!!) invitation from Keri to join this wonderful new blog. I’m immensely flattered as everyone on here is just so talented! Thank you Keri – you’re a very generous person!! xx

In truth, I’ve only just stumbled across Keri’s amazing wall dancers. Sharon of Mana Moon Studios had included one in an Etsy Treasury which prompted me to take a look. Sharon has a brilliant knack of hunting out the unusual and the creators behind them are always such gorgeous people!! I wasn’t disappointed! Keri, your wall art is so fun and just so funky!! I LOVE it!!

I make jewellery – mostly wire work at the moment as it’s my current passion. I’ve got a shop on etsy if you would like to take a peek. I haven’t been open that long, but Sharon from Mana Moon Studios (sorry, I know I keep mentioning her, but she’s been such an enormous support to me and has become such a wonderful friend!!) encouraged me not to give up and consequently I’ve had a few sales all of which have sent me spiralling up to heaven!! I love using quality components such as sterling silver and gem stones, but I do like to try and keep my prices as low as I can as I believe every woman should be able to own a handcrafted item of jewellery that hopefully exudes a touch of class!!

It's an honor to be invited Keri!

They say in life that things happen for a reason. Keri and I met thru EBay. I admired her work and then one day she emails me telling me how much she enjoys my funky beads and would like to put them on her dolls! Wow! I can't believe it. So our adventure began and continues. Keri, your a gem! Thanks for all you've done for me.

Playing with polymer clay

Thanks to Keri for inviting me to post on her blog! I discovered her fantastic Wall Dancers several years ago on Ebay so I've admired her creativity for a l-o-n-g time and recently was delighted to "meet" her a little more personally as a member of a group we both belong to on Flickr, the Polymer Clay Artists Guild of Etsy.

If you'd like to see an amazing variety of creations people make with polymer clay, click HERE to visit the PCAGOE website.

Artsy Clay was born 11 years ago when a friend's daughter, then age 6, was wearing the most beautiful necklace she'd made herself in school. Having always loved handmade things, I was very intrigued. Her mom told me to buy some "Sculpey" which I'd never heard of before, and I've been totally addicted ever since! I never get bored because the possibilities are endless and there's always something new to learn. To read more about my Creations and Inspirations, hop on over to my BLOG.

Hey, is this thing on??

I didn't know one could post on someone else's blog! Shows how much I keep up on things! Too much painting in a bubble I suppose.

Keri, THANKS SO MUCH for inviting me here! This is great. Keep those dancers dancing!

As I said the first time we met, your dancers catch the eye, and captivate the soul, as does your kindness and warmth. As you know, I am a former "clayer", and what you do with the medium is astounding.

Here's to diehard artists like us. We make the world go round, and make it a much more fun, and nicer place to boot!

Big Hugs,

Your pal always,

Matt

My New Lil Partying Buddy

For all of you that go way back with me you have gone on my journey of my Lyme Disease. You know I have squirrels in my kitchen, I set my microwave on fire, a whole bunch of balloons I got stuck in our ceiling fan, the toaster is usually in the frig......and so on! The hubby & the kids are freaking because I told them I would like to weld large kinetic sculptures. They are LESS than thrilled! The kids keep telling Ric we will no longer have a house if I do weld. What me worry? NOT!

Well yesterday I saw the cutest lil squirrel out here. I thought about how at our other house my (what I thought was 40 squirrels) turned out to be 3 & how they were as fat as bowling balls. (literally!) cuz I fed them ALL day long! They would bang on the window with their cute lil paws so I would have to feed them. So I decided to be cordial to my new lil buddy......I was SO excited!!!!! Ric wasn't home from work so I decided to have a few drinks with my new 'friend' on the patio. I sure hope he'll be back again!

If I Do This...I'm A Genius!!!!!

Ok "Old Lyme Head" is going to attempt to create this post so those who know me have to be cracking up! My darling new friend Sharon from Mana Moon Studios flattered me & gave me the honorable "Arte Y Pico" Award Award which is The Creativity and Art Award and yes Sharon honey I am honored & humbled to receive it. I now am supposed to pass it on to 5 fellow artists that I respect & feel deserve it. I think she did this because I asked her to do what she refers to as a "shameless plug" as I felt she should show off her talent as her work ROCKS! She did pacify me..........so is this my payback from my new bud that I love????

So many of you are not only GREAT artists but also dear friends & picking 5 is impossible to do! Laurie Beth Beggin who is an angel & a dear friend just received one also. She surely deserves one but I am not sure if I can award her another! So here I go!!!!!!

These are some dear friends & someday when I grow up I'd love to make dolls like my first choice & that is Annie Hesse. Our paths crossed a couple years back & Annie & I have traded all those years & my house is filled with the most OUTSTANDING dolls. See her link-she truly IS amazing:
Annie Hesse

Others 'buds' that I adore are:
All Wired Up Linda Allegro
Cyndie Smith Designs
Mosaic Whimsy Ingrid
Terri Stone Terri makes the opolymer beads I use on my 'gals'

Well it only took me 1 1/2 hours to make one post & my coffee is cold!!!!! So I will publish it now & God only knows what will happen! Love you all-you are all WINNERS! Sharon if you are rolling on the floor laughing your butt off-you should be darlin'!

Awards, Jewels & Banners, Oh My!

This posting may be a bit unorthodox but given my dear friend Keri's newbie status with blogs I'm taking the proverbial bull by the horn and announcing that Keri was awarded with the honorable "Arte Y Pico" Award which is The Creativity and Art Award and I'm certain she's quite honored to receive it. ;)

In receiving this beautiful award it is her honor & responsibility to pass the award on to five other fellow artist whom she greatly admires. Now normally Keri would post those names here but at the moment her special talents are in posting comments. Soooo, I'm certain that Keri will add a comment or two, noting the individuals she admires within the Arts (and she won't include me as I'm the one who bestowed the award on her ~wink~).

Now at the same time a littler bird has been telling me to post one of those shameless plugs about my work and since I adore this little bird I find I must comply. So, here it is...

Mana Moon Studios is the name of the business my husband and I co-own. While my hubby creates fantastic Chain Maille wears I busy my fingers with my original Woven Wire Bracelets & Fiberwear Treasures. The bracelets are an original design of mine and I find such enjoyment in featuring artist's Lampwork beads as focals. It's a delight of mine to bring fabulous arts to the spotlight by framing their gorgeous works of art.

We sell our original creations through our website located at http://www.manamoon.com as well as through Etsy shop, on Smashing Darling and several retail locations. My bracelets have been featured on oodles of blogs, websites & favorites lists and it's a continuing honor to be included.

Recently I've branched out by bringing my years of Graphic Design and Web Design experience into the picture by opening a new Etsy shop featuring my original banner & avatar sets. They're perfect for the new business just opening on Etsy or for those looking to improve on their professional & creative presence. I offer prefab banner sets, custom orders & photo editing to name a few. So, if you're looking for either the perfect one-of-a-kind gift (for a friend or for yourself) or if you're in the market for a delightfully whimsical banner, stop on over to one of our stores... you won't be disappointed and I'd love to see you there!

Thank you Keri!

I was so flattered to be invited to post on Keri's blog. I have been a HUGE fan of hers since I first joined Etsy nearly a year ago and she has been one of the kindest people I have been lucky enough to cross paths with :)

I decided to post my latest tree sculpture, The Moon Dancer, who is paying homage to the moon. I just came back from the beach and I was lucky enough to see the full moon reflecting over the ocean. I have always had a love affair with the moon... simply looking at it makes all of my troubles seem so small and insignificant. My tree sculpture is obviously moved the same way.

This is a mixed media piece sculpted from a variety of air-dry clays and paper mache upon a wooden box. To see more of my work (WARNING! SHAMELESS PLUG!!) http://www.etsy.com/shop.php?user_id=5759136

I'm always "All Wired Up"!

Why??? It's fun people like you Keri that "get me wired".... You're the best!! Thanx for the invite to join your blog and show off my Wire Art. Remember you can always visit me at http://www.allegroartstudio.com/ and www.stores.ebay.com/all-wired-up-functional-art for FuN ~ FuNkY ~ FuNcTiOnAl affordable art. I'll check back often... hugs honey!

With Love Girlfriend

I'm honored that Keri would invite me to join her Wall Dancers blog but quite honestly who could possibly upstage her whimsical ladies!? Each little dancer springs to life with the joy of color and expression.

Keri does the impossible on so many levels. Just take the time to read her profile and you discover a woman of strength, courage, determination and one so full of heart and a joy for living that you can't help but admire and adore her.

Creating her original works of art in the form of Wall Dancers is awe inspiring enough but Keri does it all while under the grip of dealing with Lyme Disease. Having lived in areas where this dreaded disease is prevalent I have a grasp for what a trial each day must be for her. And yet through it all she delights and inspires us to reach higher, find our creative inspiration and live life to it's fullest. So welcome to the wonderful world of Wall Dancers created by Keri, a most talented artist, a delightful friend and a treasured soul. To view or purchase Wall Dancers visit her Etsy shop at http://kerijoy.etsy.com.

On a final note, since I'm supposed to be plugging my business, here's a link to my new graphic design shop located at http://manamoonstudios.etsy.com
