Puppy=no work getting done!

Gotta say that I have been going up & back thinking Martha our 4+ black lab may like a 'bud' cuz Martha looks like a tummy with legs! We adopted her where they saved her from a kill shelter when she was 4 months old. She has always been quiet & no doubt abused before we got her. Tomorrow will be 2 weeks ago that we adopted Rex. A lifetime ago I had 14 Alaskan Malamutes & this pup is wearing me out! He is almost 3 months old so of course the biting on you (teething) & house breaking I shake my head thinking "how did I do this back then?" And I had 2 kids! ~laughing~ So to get him trained I try to stay a step ahead to avoid accidents. Won't crate him unless I leave. He is a SMART good lil guy-just needs to know the rules. He's lab/shepard mix. Have great weekends. Hugs!

I am 'morphing' again

Even with my "Wall Dancers" I always made the faces first & built the doll around that face. In my recycled found art projects I once again would make the polymer face(s) first. Now I am trying to make pieces only with found objects. With my brain literally scrambled from Lyme it is a challenge which makes me want to do it! They are

Had fun with the faces. Dragging today because 1 of my doll groups did a "Christmas In July" so I decided not to be a kill joy. So when I made those 3 I did 2 more that need painting still. Have not missed my "Wall Dancers" at all.

Bad Bad Keri "Take A Flying Whuuuuuuut???????"

Well I had a piece that I did when I started playing with Found objects less than a year ago. Never liked it so I decided to rip it apart & create "Take A Flyin' F---! (potty mouth!) Since I'll probably keep it- that's how I felt that day!

I've been kinda draggin' butt so work is coming but not at my usual crazy way! Found some treasures at the Flea Market this weekend so i did start 2 pieces. company will be here today for a couple of days so I may just miss it enough to crank some things out! Hugs.

Had A Week With Both Grandchildren

What a blast but was I whooped! Tuesday was the petting zoo. Thursday was the Museum Of Science & Industry & Father's Day was Sunday. Had family dinners & a good time was had by all!

I used a bike sprocket & a zither on this piece. Did I miss the dolls? Nah but did use wire & beads!

My Biggest Piece Yet

I made a piece when I 1st began the found object art & never liked it. It did not look bad-there was just 'something' that bugged me about it. So I tore it apart for parts & wanted to make a 'biggie' with arms & legs, This baby is loaded with parts! The name should not be repeated! I made it for me.

The "KeRicTures" Are Still Coming!

Let me introduce you to "Quincy", Raquel" & "Sadie" I have been making a piece for myself & it is amazing that I have very few of my own pieces including the "Wall Dancers".

May Is LYME AWARENESS Month

It was not in our heads... it was under our skin. Because of this debilitating disease we feel each others pain as it will strip your life right out of you. The symptoms & damage is HORRENDOUS. Most of us went undiagnosed as cases were not being reported. We never got the bullseye rash that shows that one has Lyme. 80% never get it. Besides Fibromyalgia & Lyme Arthritis (which I can ignore) I was damaged very badly Neurologically. I also have chronic sinusitis which knocks me to my knees post Lyme symptoms like to reek havoc & make all of your other symptome act up worse. In 9+ years I have had 11 piklines-yes that is what you see in the picture, an IV threaded to my heart. I can get 1-3 infusions a day of antibiotics -I have had them in for up to 3-4 months. 11 piklines in 9 years. My art was my saving grace as staying home in bed was not an option. I decide after I could stand up & focus (8 months) I would concentrate on my art. I sold 1400 Wall Dancers dolls each made 1 at a time on Ebay then I went to Etsy. So this be knows what one goes through. the reason for this ugly picture & story is because people tell me Keri if you can do it I can try... I always wanted to paint... I would like to sew ............so my heart & prayers are with you all & I will stand by your side. This is MY story. Last week I was written up in Artizen Magazine. I know everyone wants to ask questions but I do NOT do support groups or get all over Lyme websites. I KNOW what the disease so please try & respect my right to not want to talk sick talk with anyone. I have met great people & learned many lessons on my journey. I cannot change the Lyme Disease but I can choose how I want to live my life & I do! To all of you that have gone through so much of this with me over the years-I love you to pieces! Hugs,

"KeRicTures"

Ok so I morphed again! Cannot have Keri idle or the Lyme would run my life. And I really can cause trouble! Boy the name "KeRicTures" really works! My whole 1st name is in the name & Ric's actually spells us both out! Anyhoo we are embarking on a new venture or adventure! Hubby & I are now collaborating on a new series of art pieces. I sketch the faces & Ric cuts them out but they can have 5-6 layers of masonite to create them. Then I do the painting & assembling.

Next he makes the bodies & then back to me for painting. These are truly whimsical pieces so colorful! They are 26"- 29" tall so good size pieces. Each face will be different but the bodies will stay the same. When people see our work because of the body style they will think "Ric & Keri made these!" Thus the name "KeRicTures". They'll be painted differently & can be a blast in a grouping!
