"WALL DANCERS:

Wall Dancers are one of a kind Art Dolls that were 'born' in February 2003. To all of my customers and dear friends who have made my "Wall Dancers" as successful as they've been, a heart-felt thanks and hugs for supporting me throughout my endeavors. To new viewers please enjoy browsing!

FOUND OBJECT ART:

When Ken from Landfill art asked if I would do my polymer work on a hubcap I was hooked! To think he will be taking 1041 what some would think were junk but turning them into 'masterpieces!' It will be a table book & a traveling exhibit. After this I decided turning found objects with a 'Keri spin' would be a RIOT! And it is. I've not made a "Wall Dancer" since. After selling 1400 one of a kind dolls, I was ready for the change!

I have decided that I lost track of WHY I love my art. I love the gals but it as time for a change & this change is going to be around for awhile. So I began to play with found objects or my art. For just the fun of it. The hubcap was such a cool idea for the Landfill Art Project I thought Ken's idea of turning junk hubcaps into art was so very cool. So I decided it would be fun to play & use junk as my canvases sometimes. Once I started putting polymer on it I was changing the junk into art.

My wish is that my work will make you feel happy, positive and sometimes even encouraged. That they will always put a smile on your face! All come to you signed and dated by me, Keri.

"KeRicTures"

Hubby & I are now collaborating on a new series of art pieces. I sketch the faces & Ric cuts them out but they can have 5-6 layers of masonite to create them. Then I do the painting & assembling.

Next he makes the bodies & then back to me for painting. These are truly whimsical pieces so colorful! This on is 29" tall so good size pieces. Each face will be different but the bodies will stay the same. When people see our work because of the body style they will think "Ric & Keri made these!" Thus the name KeRicTures. They'll be painted differently & can be a blast in a grouping!

My "Doobie" "KeRicTure" Is Featured In Artfire Today

What a nice thing to wake up to! Have beautiful weekends. Hugs & for those who voted for me in the 3RD WARD OPEN CALL.......love, hugs & appreciation.

Hubby & I Are Collaborating

I swore I'd never draw or paint again but being on hold with Comcast (shaking head) I sketched out a few faces. It is time for another change. Hubby who just is a 'wood master' has rendered my drawings out of wood that can be up to 6 layers. He is phenomenal! Now this weekend we are going to make body prototypes probably 2 as some heads are so much larger but we WANT them simple & when anyone sees them they KNOW we made them! No doubt about it! So a work in progress but a fun one. Hugs.

Why did you swear to never paint or draw again?

Thanks Michelle! I will list them once we have them made honey. My found art took me away from the "Wall Dancers" & after 1400 I understand why! With my Lyme I have no clue what world I'm in! So this will be fun as I work on my found object art too. When they are done, would you consider a trade? LOVE your work girlfriend. Hugs & kisses.

Ok darling here is my story. I had 2 scholarships 1 to the Art Institute here in Illinois & to Berkeley. But I wanted the American Academy here for illustration. Shhhhhhh I am a trained illustrator. I lived my art & loved it. SO PASSIONATE! After being married 12 years where I did not work I was widowed in '87. The kids were 9 & 4 I was 31. I went back to work as a Senior Designer. I LOVED THE DRAWING BOARD! Still was passionate. Once the computers came in I felt like a secretary & because I was good & fast the workload they gave me (Lysol was 1 account) I just BURNED OUT & never wanted to do it again after 15 in the fast line of art. So these sketches of the faces have been my first in 13 years. I will attach amy last drawing. I was sitting in my office when Frank Zappa passed so I sketched out his portrait. I'll go find Frank! All my other artwork my kids have. Hugs & kisses girlfriend.

These faces are so inspiring. The colors, the designs, how they are expressed are exceptionally engaging.

Thank you honey. I think they will continue to get wilder & better as these are in the 'infant' stage. But I should have 2 more done by tomorrow. Hugs,
Keri
