The "Centerline" Exhibit In October At The Zhou B Art Center "With Love & Respect"

I always wanted to make a life-sized piece so I did!!!!!!!! This baby is 5 1/2 feet tall. I decided to use the old Japanese fan & the skeletons & skulls I had & make her into a Day Of The Dead piece. Día de Muertos is a Mexican holiday celebrated throughout Mexico and around the world in other cultures. The holiday focuses on gatherings of family and friends to pray for and remember friends and family members who have died. Traditions connected with the holiday include building private altars honoring the deceased using sugar skulls, marigolds, and the favorite foods and beverages of the departed and visiting graves with these as gifts. They also leave possessions of the deceased.

The Annual Exhibit At 4Art Inc Gallery "Shattered Mirror"

It pretty much spells out my self 30 years ago. I opened a 'can of worms' but have my dollhouse! Besides 2 glass jars I made EVERY miniature in this piece! What a labor of love!

"Makin' Purty Music" & "Shit Creek Paddle Company"

Makin' Purty Music" Found this xylophone & love the metal & shape. When I posted it it was still 'under construction!' My white pieces got ruined by heat NO saving them after trying multiple products...................I lost more of the 'toothpick detail' each coat. The answer was too late..........Latex Clear Matte Spray. Big problem as the polymer is water based & NEEDS water based coatings. So building up white pieces & get out the molds I made & put them to use! Think (know) I need to make more.
"SHIT CREEK PADDLE CO." Nothin' like bein' up shit's creek without one! How much fun did I have with this?????? My last post was an xylophone where I explained I lost my white pieces due to heat. So this is the second white piece & now I am going back to color! I do have a couple of white pieces in my Etsy store. https://www.etsy.com/shop/kerijoy

We also had many laughs & learned much about each other. Never did I expect to hit the cover on the one of the biggest doll magazines in Russia! The magazine that was sent went AWOL 2 months ago but I received it yeaterday so I hope these pix are better than the last. I am going to have to learn Russian to translate this! Hugs all.

3RD Friday In April Opening Reception

In May I am being published in International Contemporary Artist A lot of things have been happening quickly! The art is getting seen but you have to work & put yourself out there. Sales still are awful. Hopefully at my new 'home' the 4ART Inc Gallery in Bridgeport sales will pick up as there is a ton of exposure there! Every 3rd Friday is Opening Reception where the gallery & all 4 floors of artist studios open up & it is a BLAST! Great work by so many talented artists. This month these were the pieces I put in as every month we take out all of that month's art & replace it with new.

My Art & I Found A Home

A rockin' home! 4Art Inc Gallery in the famous Zhou Brothers Art Center. http://www.4artinc.com/ There are 2 galleries 1st & 4th floor but the rest of the building is filled with artists studios etc. This is right in the Chicago Loop....CHOICE location! Robin will be a great mentor! Last month I brought my work in (ALL WHITE PIECES!) for the opening reception on Friday the 18th. I will still enter other exhibits as well as the ones put on in the Zhou B Art Center. 3RD FRIDAYS @ 4ART 4Art Inc Gallery holds its monthly 3rd Friday Artists Reception from 6pm-10pm. The guests can 'explore' five floors of art galleries and artists studio’s within the Zhou B Art Center. The whole building participates. Robin is great! She is a BFA graduate from the Illinois Institute of Art-Chicago, since October 2003 and has obtained a large and loyal base of artists and clientele that is dedicated to the survival and reputation of the Fine Arts scene in Chicago .4Art Inc Gallery is one the most enduring and successful art galleries in Chicago. The Gallery has been fully owned and operated by Robin. The mind blower is whole building is owned by the Zhou brothers who are reknowned artists themselves. Check out their link it is wild! A long history as artists & I think you'll love seeing their work. http://www.zhoub.com/index.html This month the "KeRicTures" went.
