FOUND OBJECT ART:

When Ken from Landfill art asked if I would do my polymer work on a hubcap I was hooked! To think he will be taking 1041 what some would think were junk but turning them into 'masterpieces!' It will be a table book & a traveling exhibit. After this I decided turning found objects with a 'Keri spin' would be a RIOT! And it is. I've not made a "Wall Dancer" since. After selling 1400 one of a kind dolls, I was ready for the change!

I have decided that I lost track of WHY I love my art. I love the gals but it as time for a change & this change is going to be around for awhile. So I began to play with found objects or my art. For just the fun of it. The hubcap was such a cool idea for the Landfill Art Project I thought Ken's idea of turning junk hubcaps into art was so very cool. So I decided it would be fun to play & use junk as my canvases sometimes. Once I started putting polymer on it I was changing the junk into art.

My wish is that my work will make you feel happy, positive and sometimes even encouraged. That they will always put a smile on your face! All come to you signed and dated by me, Keri.

"KeRicTures"

Hubby & I are now collaborating on a new series of art pieces. I sketch the faces & Ric cuts them out but they can have 5-6 layers of masonite to create them. Then I do the painting & assembling.

Next he makes the bodies & then back to me for painting. These are truly whimsical pieces so colorful! This on is 29" tall so good size pieces. Each face will be different but the bodies will stay the same. When people see our work because of the body style they will think "Ric & Keri made these!" Thus the name KeRicTures. They'll be painted differently & can be a blast in a grouping!

They Can't Keep Me Down!!!!!

I Am A Face Of Lyme Anybody close to me knows that. Many have been on my journey with me for many years. Every May which is Lyme Awareness month my 11th pic-line picture gets posted as my avatar for the month. Well I am on pic-line 12. Really felt that I was done on 11 but Lyme is an insidious disease. They threaded it to my heart yesterday. I will be giving myself 2 infusions of antibiotics a day. I will flush with saline, hook up my antibiotic, flush with saline again & then administer Herapin to keep my line from clotting. I was diagnosed with Lyme Disease in February 2002 and that kept me literally bed-bound where the first 300 “Wall Dancers” were made in bed. Since I have sold over 1400 dolls & many of my recycled found object sculptures & the "KeRicTures". Why would I show this? Or talk about it? Because I get out of bed when I am sick. I do my art & keep busy & live my life. My 'story' is so many peoples stories. My hope is that they too will start doing the things they love or loved. Get out of bed if you can. I truly believe everything happens for a reason and I accept I am EXACTLY where I am supposed to be today. You can make lemonade with the cards you are dealt. You live your life like anyone else. I am blessed with a beautiful family & friends. I have met great people & I cannot change the Lyme Disease but I can choose how I want to live my life & I do
